Teachers
Sophia, I wonder what your school is like and what your teachers are like. When I lived on Kauai with Morey Percy, I knew her teachers very well. I knew what she was studying. My dream-slash-plan was to get her ahead in math at some point. For example, when she was in 5th grade, I planned to get a copy of her 6th grade math book and tutor her over the summer. At some point, she could skip a year and be a whole year ahead.
Maybe your mom told you at some point that I’m basically a math weenie. I would have loved to have helped you with math homework, even help you get a year ahead as well. I love to explain math problems in simple terms.
I wish I had the chance to get to know your teachers. I’m sorry I’m missing all of it.
And, while living outside the USA, the view of American schools now is that they’re all run by screeching blue-haired Trans-whatever they/them clowns who make everything about Gay Pride, even a math class. At least, that’s the impression I sometimes get. Of course, Lynchburg is a bit more conservative, so that’s probably not the case for you.
Anyway, I saw this teacher complaining, and I wondered what you thought of it. Can you relate to any of this? Also, the haunting line: “Kids only care about how they will be entertained for the next five minutes.”
